2014 Spring/Summer Boulder Mountaineering School

Boulder Mountaineering Schools (BMS) is a great opportunity, for volunteers and students alike, to fine tune skills, learn something new, and give back to the community. Let the 2014 sessions begin!

Sign up day is Tuesday, February 25th starting at 8am. I encourage prospective students to enroll as close to the time as possible as many classes are full by the end of the day!

To sign up for the courses, login to http://www.cmc.org. Click on Class Schedule. Click on Adult Education Members. Click on the course that you would like to sign up for and fill in the required fields. Note that the Authorization Code will be removed on Tuesday, 2/26, at 8am to allow the sign-ups to start. Click on rock lead school application .

2012 Rock Leading School Announcement

Rock Leading School

The Boulder Group’s Rock Leading School is accepting student applications. The purpose of this school is to train prospective and beginning leaders in the proper techniques to lead rock climbs safely and efficiently. It is anticipated that sixteen people will attend. As a bonus for their volunteer efforts, qualified Basic Rock School assistants and rock climb co-leaders will be given preference.

This class will consist of one evening lecture and three field trips on the dates listed below. The cost of the class is $110. The climbs selected for you to lead will be based on your ability and will be rated 5.6 or less. You will be encouraged to lead at least one climb without a safety top-rope during the course although this is not a requirement for successful completion of the course. Previous rock leading experience is not required.
